Job Title: Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Orthopaedic and Surgery and Vascular Service, you will provide expert occupational therapy services to patients with complex and specialist needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions to patients with complex orthopaedic and surgical conditions.
  • Lead and manage a team of occupational therapists, providing guidance, supervision, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement service improvements and initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Act as a clinical source of expertise and advice, contributing to Clinical Governance and Quality Assurance programs.
  • Support the management of the Occupational Therapy Service, as required by the Trust Head Occupational Therapist.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Masters level or equivalent training in specialist area or evidence of significant practical experience, research, or publication in specialist area.

Desirable Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced specialist knowledge and application of occupational therapy process within an acute or primary care service.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, managerial, and team performance skills.
  • Proven experience in the training, teaching, supervision, and mentoring of others.
