About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Technician to join our team at Tokamak Energy. As an Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our fusion energy projects and contributing to the development of our High-Temperature Superconductor (HTS) magnet technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and development of equipment and systems for our fusion energy projects
  • Perform mechanical fabrication and installation tasks as required
  • Support system installations and provide general engineering assistance to scientists and engineers
  • Collaborate with other team members and contractors to ensure effective coordination and completion of tasks
  • Contribute to the upkeep of our work environment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, repair, and upgrade
  • Ability to read and work from drawings and schematics
  • Flexible and agile approach to daily tasks
  • Good initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Desirable Qualifications
  • Eng Tech, IEng, or working towards
  • Rigging and slinging experience
  • Forklift license
  • Crane license
  • MEWP/IPAF 3A & 3B licensed
  • PASMA trained
  • PAT qualified
  • First Aid training
  • Machining (Manual/CNC) experience
  • Welding, brazing, and silver soldering experience
  • Cryogenic handling experience
  • UHV Vacuum systems experience
  • Instrumentation and experimental support experience
