Objective:
The Area Sales Manager is tasked with managing the customer portfolio within the designated region, fostering robust relationships with both existing and prospective clients, and maximizing the full spectrum of Schneider Electric's products and services.
Your primary responsibility will be to meet all established targets related to orders, sales, profitability, and strategic initiatives within your client base. Building a strong internal network for support within your customer base will be essential.
You will cultivate deep customer connections throughout the area at all levels and drive significant engagement with both customers and prospects. This role encompasses the transactional aspects of the business, with a primary focus on Distributors and smaller Contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development: Formulate a comprehensive area sales strategy that drives growth within the region. Focus on clear targets for existing customer growth and new customer acquisition, ensuring strong collaboration with channel and offer marketing to create an effective customer engagement plan.
- Financial Performance: Achieve or surpass all key performance indicators, concentrating on orders, sales, margins, new customer acquisition, and opportunity win rates. Maintain stringent management of marketing development funds and expenses.
- Customer Relationship Management: Establish, maintain, and enhance key customer relationships across your account portfolio in all channels (Distribution, Panel Builders, Contractors), leveraging these connections to expand business opportunities.
- Forecasting: Participate in and deliver formal rolling forecasts on a quarterly basis, along with monthly forecasts for the business and semi-formal updates as required by the Regional Director.
- CRM Leadership: Be a leader in CRM utilization, documenting all customer interactions and managing opportunities effectively. Foster a culture of CRM excellence that becomes ingrained in your approach.
- Pipeline Oversight: Implement robust pipeline management within your area, ensuring a comprehensive view of projects in the short, medium, and long term. Promote 'Schneider End to End' sales and ensure the mix of offers aligns with available market segments.
