Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Step Teachers. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Adapt and modify instructional materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence, social interaction, and emotional growth.
Requirements:
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in special education settings, preferably at Reception Level.
  • Strong understanding of various disabilities, including learning difficulties, and ability to adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a positive attitude when faced with challenges.
  • Relevant certifications or training in special education or related fields are highly desirable.
