Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Research Administrator to provide administrative support to our clinical and non-clinical staff within the Cancer Team of the Department of Clinical Research. The successful candidate will assist with the coordination of clinical trial-related samples, planning and preparation for patient study visits, and support with wider administrative duties.

Main Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the research delivery staff, the Research Administrator will provide study-specific support, including:

  • Preparing and sending trial information to patients
  • Filing, photocopying, and tracking patient appointments
  • Preparing blood sampling packs and notes for clinics
  • Arranging couriers for samples and ensuring safe storage
  • Recording sample shipments to external organizations

The Research Administrator will also maintain and update the local data management system, ensuring patient information is verified and recorded accurately. Additionally, they will deal sensitively with telephone queries from patients or relatives, providing non-clinical advice and signposting to the appropriate service when necessary.
