About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a local primary school in Felixstowe. The successful candidate will provide one-to-one and group support to pupils with ASD across KS1 & 2, using communication aids like PECs and Makaton where necessary.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children who have additional needs, aged 5-11 years. A Level 3 qualification would be beneficial but is not essential. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate flexibility and understanding to work with learners with a range of needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to pupils with ASD across KS1 & 2
  • Use communication aids like PECs and Makaton where necessary
  • Assist pupils with various curriculum learning activities
  • Focus on specific developmental areas using P Levels to track progress
