Teaching Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Nursery/Reception Class on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing daily routines and policies, and will be involved in the planning, reviewing, and assessment of the Early Years Curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in delivering the curriculum and implementing daily routines.
  • Assist with planning, reviewing, and assessing the Early Years Curriculum.
  • Work with the class teacher to develop and implement strategies to support children with special educational needs.
  • Provide one-to-one support to children as needed.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Level 2/3 or equivalent Teaching Assistant or Nursery Nurse/Early Years qualification.
  • Experience of working in a primary school or nursery setting within the last 2 years.
  • Proven record of managing challenging behaviour and supporting children to understand their frustrations.
  • Ability to engage with pupils of varying ages and abilities.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
