About The Role

EKFB is a collaborative venture that unites top-tier expertise from four prominent civil engineering and construction firms: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction, and BAM Nuttall.

We are seeking to appoint a Utilities Project Coordinator to enhance our Utilities Team. In this role, you will facilitate the design interface between EKFB and HS2, ensuring that the requirements of Statutory Undertakers are met promptly and effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with Utilities Construction teams, Design Managers, Coordinators, Temporary Works, Consents Managers, and other stakeholders within EKFB.
  • Ensuring that designs align with project specifications and incorporate reasonable requirements.
  • Providing essential support to the EKFB Design and Engineering Manager and the Designer, adhering to the assurance framework as outlined in the engineering and assurance plan.
  • Identifying potential risks and issues early to mitigate them and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Managing change control and internal approvals through established protocols while actively participating in the design review process.
  • Offering guidance on aligning assurance deliverables with client expectations to facilitate the timely delivery of the Design in accordance with the Programme.
  • Working collaboratively with the delivery team to ensure preparedness for the Completions Process.
About The Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree-level qualification in Project Management, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • SMSTS certification and independence from construction teams.
  • EUSR Service Avoidance certification, Category 1 & 2, or NVQ Level 2 in Utility Avoidance and Buried Services, along with NRSWA Location and Avoidance of Underground Services training.

Additionally, you should have:

  • Knowledge of the HS2 Act, Assurance & PPA's, and Utility Regulations to inform design, construction, and connection works with statutory undertakers.
  • Familiarity with the CDM Principal Designer role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A valid Full UK driving license.

EKFB is a joint venture that combines international, market-leading technical expertise. Our partners are specialists in the design, construction, operation, financing, and maintenance of railway networks, including one of Europe’s latest high-speed rail projects.
