Job Overview

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Service Engineer to provide exceptional support in the maintenance and repair of electrical and welding machinery. This role involves both in-house and on-site responsibilities, ensuring equipment operates efficiently and meets quality standards.

Work Schedule: Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week.

Compensation: A monthly car allowance of £450 is provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with the Company's Safety, Health, and Environment Policy consistently.
  • Perform servicing and repairs on plant machinery and related products, both in-house and at client locations.
  • Document repairs and complete necessary paperwork in line with the Company's Codes of Practice and BS EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by responding promptly to service calls and executing high-quality repairs.
  • Conduct regular electrical inspections on calibration equipment to verify operational compliance.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of parts in the workshop to facilitate efficient repairs.
  • Participate in training sessions to remain informed about emerging technologies and practices.
  • Complete daily work logs and submit them to the Branch Manager.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the workshop and company vehicle, reporting any damages to the line manager.

Candidate Profile:

  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Good health and physical fitness, with particular emphasis on eyesight.
  • Relevant experience or knowledge in the field is essential.
  • Familiarity with machinery and tools, including their design, application, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of electronic components, circuit boards, and computer hardware/software.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, and equipment design.
  • Excellent customer service abilities, including needs assessment and quality evaluation.
  • Logical reasoning skills to assess alternative solutions.
  • Problem-solving capabilities to identify and address complex issues.
  • Ability to comprehend work-related documents and communicate effectively.
  • Conduct tests and inspections to assess quality and performance.
  • Capacity to maintain focus on tasks over extended periods.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the operational requirements of the organization.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, notifying the Branch Manager of any necessary repairs.
  • Strong listening, speaking, and time management skills.
