In this vital role, you will provide expert clinical care and support to children and young people with diverse needs within mainstream school settings. Your primary focus will be on enhancing their physical and sensory development, enabling them to fully participate in educational and social activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions tailored to individual children's requirements, encompassing assessment, treatment planning, and progress monitoring.
- Collaborate closely with parents/carers, school staff, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans and ensure seamless transitions between home, school, and therapeutic settings.
- Conduct thorough assessments utilizing standardized tools and clinical expertise to identify children's strengths, challenges, and areas requiring intervention.
- Provide training and guidance to school staff on implementing effective strategies to support children with diverse needs within the classroom environment.
- Contribute to service development initiatives by identifying best practices, evaluating existing programs, and proposing innovative solutions to enhance care delivery.
- Registration with the Health Professions Council as an Occupational Therapist.
- A recognized Occupational Therapy degree qualification or equivalent.
- Membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
