Position Overview

We are seeking a QHSE Specialist to enhance our team at Innovate. Reporting directly to the QHSE Manager, the Specialist will support the QHSE team in all aspects of Quality Assurance related to the procurement and execution of designated projects.

This role entails assisting in Quality Assurance for primary project suppliers and sub-tier suppliers of components and sub-assemblies, while pinpointing opportunities for enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the QHSE Manager in promoting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement and uphold QHSE policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Identify and document non-conformance issues and propose enhancements.
  • Conduct internal audits and engage in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Party audits.
  • Address non-conformances utilizing 8D methodology, identifying root causes and executing corrective measures.

For designated contracts:

  • Serve as the QHSE Lead Specialist.
  • Ensure compliance with customer QHSE requirements.
  • Conduct PFMEA to anticipate and mitigate defects.
  • Develop and sustain quality plans.
  • Manage product configuration for traceability purposes.
  • Perform first article inspections and supplier acceptance evaluations.
  • Review and endorse First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Oversee PPAP for projects.
  • Supervise supplier quality management and corrective actions.
  • Conduct QHSE training sessions and enhance awareness.

Qualifications:

  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Internal/Lead Auditor experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001.
  • Familiarity with PPAP and IPC standards is advantageous.
  • HNC or higher in engineering or safety disciplines.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting (Automotive/Defence/Aerospace preferred).
  • Quality Assurance experience in an electronics/mechanical context.
  • Understanding of product safety regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

This role may require occasional travel within the UK. The position is vital in ensuring the integrity of products and processes to meet business, customer, statutory, and regulatory standards.
