Wardell Armstrong LLP is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to oversee various large-scale, multi-disciplinary initiatives across diverse sectors such as mineral exploration, rail, renewable energy, and construction, both within the UK and internationally.

The Construction Project Coordinator will collaborate with the Highways team in Cardiff and the broader Commercial and Project Management teams. This role encompasses all phases of the project lifecycle, from bidding to completion, focusing on cost minimization and value enhancement while ensuring compliance with contractual and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing project schedules and communicating necessary information to the Project Manager;
  • Addressing daily inquiries from the site team and ensuring adherence to project specifications;
  • Reporting progress to the Project Manager and Technical Director regarding timelines and budgets;
  • Managing and issuing precise, timely, and compliant notices and correspondence;
  • Identifying contractual and commercial risks and opportunities during the pricing phase;
  • Preparing and agreeing on payment applications or assessing and preparing payment certificates;
  • Maintaining records of variations, delays, extensions, and claims;
  • Assisting in change management and cost control processes;
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly progress valuations and claims for completed work;
  • Contributing to the production of monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Leader Reports;
  • Ensuring that all health, safety, and environmental risks are reported to the Contract Leader or Project Manager;
  • Conducting regular site visits to evaluate work quality and compliance with plans;
  • Helping to secure future opportunities and repeat business through exceptional service delivery.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven experience in a project management capacity within the development sector and a relevant degree;
  • Possession of a valid driving license and access to a vehicle;
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Demonstrated understanding of common construction contract conditions, particularly NEC;
  • Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations and legislation;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Projects;
  • Commercial awareness;
  • Progressing towards relevant qualifications such as APM, CEng, NECReg, or other pertinent credentials.
