Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team in Barrow in Furness, Westmorland. As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to children and young people with disabilities and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case holding and management of children and young people receiving support through S17 CIN - Direct payments
- Completing Child in Need Visits, reviewing care plans, and conducting Child and Family Assessments
- Case holding children who are Looked After subject to S20 and S31, Statutory visits, and attending CLA reviews
- Carrying out 12-month reassessments of Child and Family Assessments
- Attendance at MDT meetings, EHCP meetings, and multi-agency working with health and education professionals
- Safeguarding responsibilities, S47 enquiries, and Child Protection planning
- Participation in PLO and court work
- Duty work as part of the CWD Team, working alongside the Safeguarding hub to triage Contacts and referrals
Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent case management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
- Ability to work with children and families from diverse backgrounds
