Job Title: Social Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team in Barrow in Furness, Westmorland. As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to children and young people with disabilities and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case holding and management of children and young people receiving support through S17 CIN - Direct payments
  • Completing Child in Need Visits, reviewing care plans, and conducting Child and Family Assessments
  • Case holding children who are Looked After subject to S20 and S31, Statutory visits, and attending CLA reviews
  • Carrying out 12-month reassessments of Child and Family Assessments
  • Attendance at MDT meetings, EHCP meetings, and multi-agency working with health and education professionals
  • Safeguarding responsibilities, S47 enquiries, and Child Protection planning
  • Participation in PLO and court work
  • Duty work as part of the CWD Team, working alongside the Safeguarding hub to triage Contacts and referrals

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent case management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies
  • Ability to work with children and families from diverse backgrounds
