KPMG is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Technology Consultant to join our growing team.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in helping our clients navigate the complex world of tax technology and transformation. You will leverage your deep understanding of tax compliance, reporting, and automation to design and implement innovative solutions that meet their evolving needs.
Responsibilities- Provide expert guidance on a wide range of tax technology projects, including business process re-engineering (BPR), solution design documents, and architecture mapping.
- Act as the primary liaison between technology teams and tax teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of key drivers in the tax transformation market, such as BEPS Pillar 2, Making Tax Digital, and E-Invoicing.
- Support clients in developing compelling business cases for tax transformation projects, outlining the strategic benefits and return on investment.
- Lead workstreams on large-scale tax change programs, coordinating across multiple project areas such as operational model design, process improvement, technology implementation, architecture development, project management, and change management.
- Conduct technology scorecard and vendor assessments, presenting clear and concise findings and recommendations to clients.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of tax and accounting compliance processes, including direct/indirect tax returns and statutory accounting.
- Design or implement cloud-based practical applications from a tax perspective.
For this specific area, we are seeking candidates with expertise in:
- Group tax reporting processes and experience with current state process review and design of new or updated processes for multinational groups.
- Knowledge of the third-party tax provision solution market for IFRS groups and exposure to the benefits and drawbacks of major solutions.
- Practical hands-on experience with the end-to-end implementation of at least one established third-party tax provision solution, ideally Longview Tax Provision, Thomson Reuters OneSource Tax Provision, or Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud. Alternatively, highly experienced users/administrators of existing builds of these systems who wish to gain implementation experience will be considered.
- Experience taking a leading role on projects involving technology implementation or change.
- Capable project management skills.
- Functional knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP tax accounting, including tax consolidation.
- Awareness of drivers for change in group tax reporting processes, including the interaction between tax provision and BEPS Pillar 2.
- Experience helping groups build a business case for tax reporting transformation.
- Professional accounting or tax qualification and/or experience working in an in-house tax team with tax reporting responsibilities.
- Exposure to popular ERP and consolidation systems (SAP, Oracle / HFM, Workday, Dynamics 365, etc.) would be an advantage.
