We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Life Medical Underwriter to join our team at Legal & General Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and Document Life and Disability Risks: Accurately review customer applications to identify risk factors and assess whether we can offer Life, Critical Illness Cover and Income Protection applications.
- Participate in Process Improvement Projects: Collaborate with the team to enhance the underwriting process and improve our systems and commercial viability.
- Ensure Customer Journey: Ensure that any requests for further information are appropriate, accurate, and commensurate with the risk being assessed, ensuring the customer journey is not impacted unnecessarily.
- Identify and Resolve Complaints: Identify complaints and ensure they are acted upon quickly, with root causes highlighted to ensure compliance with complaints response time limits.
- Maintain Knowledge and Understanding: Take ownership of maintaining an excellent knowledge and understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Meet Service Expectations: Understand the commitments that are made about the level of service during the marketing and sales processes to ensure the area is capable of meeting those expectations and that customers' reasonable expectation of performance and service are met.
- Understand Risk Factors: Thoroughly understand the risk factors for mortality and morbidity, as well as financial underwriting.
