Position Overview

Sirona care and health is pleased to announce an opportunity for 2 Full-Time Safeguarding Support Coordinators to become integral members of our dedicated Safeguarding team.

The selected candidates will collaborate with the broader safeguarding administrative team, engaging with various safeguarding Single Point of Access (SPA) and Multiagency Safeguarding Hubs (MASH) as well as locality safeguarding teams as required, providing vital administrative assistance to facilitate the team's operations.

These roles will primarily focus on supporting the SPA administrative functions in conjunction with specialized safeguarding nurses, under the guidance of the senior administrative staff and the administrative manager. Responsibilities will also encompass the general administrative tasks associated with MARAC, MASH, multiagency meetings, audits, reports, and case reviews as necessary.

The positions are currently situated at a designated civic center, with potential relocation to new headquarters in the future. Successful candidates should be prepared to work both on-site and remotely as needed, with specifics to be discussed during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities

As a Safeguarding Support Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of the SPA team while also being available to assist in other safeguarding initiatives within MASH and locality work. Your responsibilities will include reporting to and supporting the Senior Safeguarding Administrator and the Safeguarding Manager by ensuring accurate data entry and record-keeping.

You will work closely with safeguarding nurses and community pediatricians, assisting them with information requests, gathering and organizing data, and maintaining efficient information flows in and out of SPA/MASH.

Candidate Profile

Required Experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word (document creation and formatting, mail merge), Microsoft Excel (spreadsheet creation and formatting, basic formulas), and database management (data entry and report generation).
  • Experience in creating and editing PowerPoint presentations.
  • Approximately 2 years of effective experience within an administrative team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in supervising or reviewing the work of others, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  • Intermediate IT skills (equivalent to NVQ3, ECDL Extra, or RSA2/3).
  • Professional telephone etiquette and a track record of meeting high standards of customer service.
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent qualifications, with a willingness to pursue further administrative training as needed.
  • Moderate typing speed (approximate words per minute), with some roles requiring audio typing capabilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to service needs, including occasional adjustments to working hours for emergencies or high workloads.
  • Emotional resilience to handle the demands of the role.
  • Ability to travel across various safeguarding localities.
  • Good general education to GCSE level or equivalent, including a C (4) grade in English and Mathematics.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a similar work environment or service is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with child protection administrative tasks, including domestic abuse and MARAC processes as they relate to health, is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in producing legal reports/statements is desirable.

Required Qualifications

  • Good general education to GCSE level or equivalent, including a C (4) grade in English and Mathematics.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent qualifications, with a commitment to further administrative training as necessary.
  • Intermediate IT skills (equivalent to NVQ3, ECDL Extra, or RSA2/3).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience within a safeguarding or Sirona Children's role is advantageous.
