About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Layout Engineer to join our team at Framatome, a leading provider of nuclear power solutions. As a key member of our EPR-E project team, you will be responsible for assisting with various activities related to the layout engineering of the nuclear island for the Hinkley Point C project.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Treatment of Input Data: You will be responsible for analyzing and verifying the technical consistency of input data for the layout engineering of the building, including process & instrumentation diagrams, equipment data, cable lists, and electrical load lists.
  2. Layout Engineering: You will be responsible for improving and modifying the design on various aspects, including the implementation of mechanical and HVAC equipment, routing HVAC ducts, pipework, and electrical cable trays in the 3D model, and ensuring consistency between process & instrumentation diagrams and the 3D model.
  3. Technical Documentation: You will be responsible for producing technical documents, including progress reports, status reports, equipment introduction notes, change impact analyses, and design procedures.
  4. Layout Drawings and Coordination: You will be responsible for issuing layout drawings to various teams and coordinating layout activities to ensure compliance with layout rules.
Progress Monitoring and Change Management
  1. Modification Management: You will be responsible for managing and monitoring modifications requested by various engineering teams.
  2. Technical Open Points: You will be responsible for anticipating and escalating technical open points.
  3. Layout Engineering Reviews: You will be responsible for preparing layout engineering reviews with all engineering teams involved.
Support to Execution Design Companies

You will be responsible for supporting execution design companies in the production of deliverables for manufacturing.

Requirements
  1. Experience: You must have experience in one or several areas of engineering, including HVAC Layout, HVAC, mechanical, and safety.
  2. Qualifications: You must be degree qualified in an appropriate technical discipline.
  3. Knowledge and Skills: You must have good knowledge and understanding of HVAC & general layout rules for an industrial project, as well as knowledge of the general operation of a nuclear power station and associated safety aspects.
  4. Communication and Collaboration: You must be comfortable and confident in highlighting issues and bringing stakeholders together to find pragmatic resolutions that satisfy all stakeholders.
  5. Technical Environment: You must be able to work in a challenging technical environment with multiple and urgent demands.
Desirable Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  1. Previous Nuclear Industry Experience: Previous experience in the nuclear industry is desirable.
  2. Previous Experience with PWRs: Previous experience working with PWRs (pressurised water reactor) is desirable.
  3. 3D Design Software: Previous experience working with 3D design software, such as Navisworks, AutoCAD, PDMS, and/or E3D, is desirable.
