Business Development Manager / Area Sales Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager / Area Sales Manager to join our team at Verto People. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and selling industrial gearboxes and solutions for EV powertrain and racing vehicles into multiple industries via OEM and End User Channels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Predominantly generating new business opportunities, selling industrial gearboxes and solutions for EV powertrain and racing vehicles into multiple industries via OEM and End User Channels
  • Work remotely covering the UK nationwide and Europe, maintaining new Hydraulic, power transmission and related industrial sales with demonstration, exhibition and negotiation in order to achieve targets
  • Manage and grow existing relationships as well as business development selling industrial gearbox products and solutions
  • Working closely with the service department to ensure an excellent standard of after-sales service is provided
  • Liaise with various engineering departments
Requirements:
  • Experience as an Area Sales Manager, Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager, or similar selling into the automotive, aerospace, defence, off-highway, motorbike, motorsport manufacturing or similar
  • Experience selling industrial mechanical products such as gearboxes, bearings, power transmission systems, brakes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, precision machined parts or similar industrial machinery/products
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or apprentice trained would be advantageous
  • Service engineer working on industrial gearboxes looking to transition into a sales role are encouraged to apply
  • Knowledge or an interest in gearboxes, transmission or other motorsport / automotive products would be beneficial
  • Full clean driving license
  • Willingness to travel to the office near Coventry at least 3 days a week during the initial training period

We offer a competitive salary of £40,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience, a bonus scheme based on agreed targets, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, a pension scheme, healthcare, and additional benefits.
