Job Title: Activities Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Activities Assistant to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with the Occupational Therapy team, Nursing Staff, and Psychologists to support the development and maintenance of structure and routine for inpatients on Twynham Ward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the inpatient Multi-Disciplinary Team on Twynham Ward in organising, co-ordinating, and delivering client-focused groups.
  • Work closely with the Occupational Therapy team to develop and maintain a structured ward activity programme.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to support the discharge pathway of each inpatient on Twynham Ward.
  • Provide support and guidance to patients with mental disorder and associated offending behaviour.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and supportive environment on Twynham Ward.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with people from diverse social and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to work well with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Effective communication skills, time management, and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility and approachability.
