About the Role

GKN Aerospace is a leading manufacturer of composite-based parts and products for the aerospace industry. We are seeking a skilled Woodworker to join our team in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the team's efforts in creating a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Hold yourself and fellow team members accountable for embodying the GKN Aerospace culture principles.
  • Undertake tasks in compliance with standard work and training, and report any problems or concerns to the Team Leader.
  • Exemplify a safety-first mindset and follow all GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and standards.
  • Understand the team's Key Performance Indicators and contribute to achieving them.
  • Become certified at the Lean Foundation level and implement at least one Kaizen per month.
  • Support the team and Team Leader in problem-solving and contribute ideas based on your experience.
  • Be an active member of the team, promoting collective engagement and collaboration.

Requirements

Suitable candidates will have completed a time-served apprenticeship as a carpenter, cabinet maker, or kitchen fitter, and be capable of using a range of industrial tools.

We need you to be a team player with an eye for detail, able to work to high standards of quality and within strict deadlines. You'll be personable, punctual, reliable, and willing to work on shifts when required.

You will also need to be physically fit and capable of undertaking this type of work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
