Professional Development Routes

Participants have the opportunity to choose from two professional development routes:

  • Leadership Programme

    This comprehensive internal leadership programme combines training and hands-on experience to equip participants with the skills to be effective early years leaders.

  • Early Years Teacher Training Programme (EYITT)

    This programme leads to Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) and is delivered as distance learning across England through our partnership with Huddersfield University.

Job Responsibilities

As a participant in the programme, you will:

  • Work in one of our community or client nurseries, shadowing early years specialists and learning from Nursery Managers and Teachers.

  • Attend training sessions in one of our offices approximately every two months.

  • Work with the Grad Programme cohort to deliver projects around your learning.

  • Complete tasks for your qualification or talent programme through hands-on learning and on-the-job training.

  • Have daily adventures with children through interactive play, activities, reading, and helping their curious minds through learning interventions and the curriculum.

  • Listen to children's needs and respond appropriately.

Requirements

To be eligible for the programme, you must:

  • Hold a full and relevant Early Years or Education degree, or any degree with a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.

  • Have GCSE Grade 4/C or Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths, and Science (for the Early Years Teacher route only).

  • Have a genuine interest and passion for working with children, helping them learn, and making a difference in their lives.

  • Understand and empathize with children.

  • Be a confident communicator.

  • Have a desire to learn.

  • Have the right to work within the UK.

  • Be committed to completing the two-year programme.

  • Be able to start in September 2024.
