Job Title: Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Interface Recruitment UK.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering IT infrastructure projects across a range of technologies, working as part of a team and mentoring junior support staff. They will also be expected to communicate effectively at a senior level, operate independently, and take accountability for the delivery of major initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capacity planning and preventative maintenance
  • Resolve 3rd line support issues for key business systems
  • Proactively manage the IT infrastructure to ensure maximum system uptime
  • Develop and maintain IT procedural/process documentation in line with PCI DSS and ITIL requirements
  • Maintain a viable IT Business continuity and disaster recovery infrastructure as per business requirements
  • Mentor junior support staff and assist where necessary
  • Assist in system capacity planning
  • Constantly review the current IT infrastructure and propose improvements
  • Installation, configuration and maintenance of key IT systems including Microsoft servers, switches, SANS, Vmware, telephony systems and firewalls

Requirements:

  • 3+ years relevant business experience
  • Broad understanding of project methodologies and when they are appropriate
  • Good working knowledge of Telephony, IP PBXs, and Dialler systems in a call centre environment
  • Technical skills including Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 Administration, Active Directory, Roaming profiles, group policies, replication, remote software distribution, sites and services configuration, Remote Desktop Services, Exchange Online, Vmware and SAN Technologies, Virtualisation and network storage infrastructure
  • Networking skills including IP, ADSL and MPLS networks, Cisco VPN configuration, firewalls, routing, VLAN configuration, Cat 5 patching, capacity planning, teaming and route aggregation
  • Telephony skills including support, deployment of handsets and headsets, configuration, capacity planning, IVM, RTA, Upgrades and patching, management, retrieval, archiving, capacity and performance monitoring
  • Security skills including an understanding of security technologies with a view to utilizing those technologies to support regulatory compliance i.e. PCI/ISO. Websense, Mimecast, Pen Testing, Sophos
