Pearson is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Moderator for GCE A Level English Literature to join our team.
About the RoleAs a Moderator, you will be responsible for reviewing centre assessments of candidates' work in accordance with agreed assessment criteria and Pearson's procedures. You will moderate a specified number of centre samples, ensuring that the assessment is fair and consistent.
Responsibilities- Carry out moderation of parts of a subject examination, such as coursework, projects, and special studies, which are marked initially by teachers in the centres and then sent to you.
- Undertake, when necessary, the direct assessment of school-based components in the subject where centres opt not to make initial assessments.
- Complete and submit centre reports to the Team Leader or Principal Moderator as required.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- One academic year's worth of teaching experience within the last 8 years and within the relevant qualification and subject.
- A degree or equivalent.
- Qualification as a teacher.
You will need to demonstrate:
- The ability to work well under pressure.
- The ability to meet deadlines.
- A high level of subject knowledge in order to apply the mark scheme.
