Junior Sister

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our senior nursing leadership team as a Deputy Ward Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a high-functioning team, providing skilled evidence-based nursing care to patients in a 28-bedded ward.

• Provide skilled, evidence-based nursing care to patients, working in accordance with the philosophy of patient-centered care and Trust standards.
• Manage the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager, ensuring safe cover and adherence to local and national Health and Safety regulations.
• Supervise care given by staff nurses and HCAs, Rehabilitation and other support members of the team, and delegate nursing care appropriately to junior staff.
• Contribute to staff development reviews, participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice within the ward team, and adhere to the Trust's policies and procedures.
• Identify risk within the ward/department and take appropriate action to promote the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
• Facilitate audit, undertake service audit within the ward/unit, and support the Ward Manager/Matron/Hospital Manager in managing the ward/service within agreed budget.

• Registered Nurse (RN1) qualification.
• Degree/Diploma and working towards a first-level degree.
• Mentor award.
• Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development.
• Experience of management of teams, clinical audit/project work, and high-level clinical knowledge and skill.
