About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Employment Advisor to join our team at Mental Health Matters. As an Employment Advisor, you will work closely with our NHS Talking Therapies services and the Department of Work and Pensions to support individuals with mental health challenges in their employment journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support to clients with mental health challenges to help them retain their jobs, find new employment, or engage in voluntary work.
  • Work collaboratively with mental health workers, partners, and other agencies to deliver a comprehensive support service.
  • Identify barriers and understand client needs to develop effective support plans.
  • Facilitate activities within the service and community to promote recovery and vocational skills.
  • Administer tasks, signpost clients to other provisions, and engage them in community activities.
About You

We are looking for an individual with experience in mental health support, excellent motivational skills, and the ability to inspire and engage people. You should have knowledge of employment rights and job retention, as well as experience working within a community-based service. An awareness of employment law and the principles of the Equalities Act 2010 would be beneficial.
