Job Description

Job Title: Education Welfare Officer - Attendance Specialist

Location: Sutton and surrounding area

Job Type: Part Time

Pay: £18,000 per year

Expected Hours: 22.5 hours per week

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Education Welfare Officer to join our team at Outcomes First Group. As an Education Welfare Officer - Attendance Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing welfare support to families and schools where there are issues affecting school attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide welfare support to families and schools to address attendance issues
  • Liaise with schools, parents, and other agencies to provide support as necessary
  • Complete reports for schools, requiring a high standard of communication both verbally and in written form
  • Carry out home visits, requiring a valid driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Work under pressure and to deadlines, adapting to different environments

Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to liaise with Headteachers and other Senior Staff
  • Mediation skills
  • Ability to use IT, including Word and Excel
  • Proven track record of delivering a service that enables pupils to receive their entitlement to education
  • Experience in reducing absence and increasing attendance and achievement
  • Ability to ascertain information relating to safeguarding and a child's welfare
