About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pre-Construction Manager to join our team at DataX Connect. As a key member of our Data Centre Services team, you will be responsible for developing and integrating information that supports the contract, design, and delivery process for our clients in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Processes: Create and maintain processes and templates for consistent planning approaches, defining and agreeing applicable project planning requirements and programmes.
  • Coordinate with Stakeholders: Coordinate between internal and external stakeholders to deliver project planning requirements, identifying opportunities to differentiate and/or provide a competitive edge.
  • Project Planning and Risk Management: Create robust and integrated project plans that address market challenges, project risks, health and safety, and cost planning.
  • Support Sales Team: Support the sales team to confirm initial needs analysis and project requirements, reviewing supplied project documentation as needed.
  • Tender Review and Client Meetings: Attend Tender Review and client tender meetings to understand the client's needs, working with the design team to peer review RFP and review contractor returns for compliance and completeness.
  • Design Review and Risk Management: Conduct design reviews to identify scope gaps, scope phasing, and risk, liaising with main/sub-contractors and consultancies to understand what is being requested or asking to be priced.
  • Procurement and Timeline Management: Work with the commercial team to manage returns and deadlines, developing a procurement tracker and programme for timeline management.
  • Project Strategy and Value Engineering: Specifically look at Project 'Strategy', 'Buildability', and investigate 'Value Engineering' solutions with the sales team, analysing cost, time, and QA.
  • Deliverables and Handover: Produce outline deliverables for the project, including programmes, procurement schedules, and commercial documentation, attending site visits and adjudication meetings prior to proposals being submitted, and transitioning the project into the execution stage with full handover documentation.
Requirements
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Customer Relationship and Service Skills: Good customer relationship and service skills.
  • Technical Understanding: Technical understanding of project activities, including experience on stages of delivery services from Tender, contract to Practical Completion.
  • Qualifications and Experience: Microsoft Project (and additional MS Office tools), Data Centre Experience (3 years minimum), Mechanical and Electrical Understanding, and Pre-construction RIBA Stages.
