About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Beckton. As a key member of our community mental health service, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of risk assessment and risk management strategies, as well as supervising reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers' hearings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of risk assessment and risk management strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of service users.
  • Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers' hearings to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Participate in the 1 in 6 telephone on-call rota to provide 24/7 support to service users and colleagues.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to support service users in managing their mental health and achieving their goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to service users.
Requirements
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis.
  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity.
  • A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess, and treat patients and write clear, comprehensive medical notes.
  • Committed to continued professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in mental health care.
