The Cottage Ward is seeking a skilled, determined, and proactive Registered Nurse to take on the role of Clinical Ward Leader.

This ward specializes in rehabilitation care, employing a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach to deliver high-quality patient support. We emphasize the importance of building relationships with patients and their families, facilitating their recovery journey from admission to discharge.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the hospital ward, overseeing the budget and staff management. This role requires strong leadership, motivational, and change management skills.

  • Collaborate effectively with all services and agencies to support patients in achieving maximum independence.
  • Maintain ongoing responsibility for the designated ward.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (RN1), Registered Mental Nurse (RMN), Registered Nurse (Mental) (RN(M)), Occupational Therapist, or Physiotherapist.
  • Degree/Diploma and working towards a first-level degree.
  • Mentorship qualification.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Willingness to provide original certificates to verify qualifications upon offer.

Desirable

  • Master's degree.
  • Management and leadership qualification.
  • Practice educator experience.

  • Significant experience in acute/community hospital settings at band 6 level.
  • Management experience with staff/teams.
  • Caseload management experience.
  • Involvement in clinical audits or project work.
  • Experience in change management.

Desirable

  • Diverse clinical experience.
  • Ward/Unit management experience, preferably at band 7.
  • Conflict management experience.
  • Workforce planning experience.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Extensive clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Understanding of clinical governance.

  • Familiarity with community services and care pathways.
