Position Overview

The primary objective of this role is to deliver expert logistics insights and guidance on regulatory frameworks and operational challenges.

This position presents an excellent opportunity to become part of our Member Advice Centre (MAC) located in Coventry. Enjoy a balanced work environment with three days in the office and two days of remote work flexibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Address member inquiries regarding road transport regulations and operational practices through various communication channels, adhering to established performance standards.
  • Exhibit initiative and ownership in resolving queries, conducting thorough research to provide well-founded, evidence-based responses utilizing specialized resources, official documentation, or collaboration with colleagues and external entities.
  • Maintain continuous professional development to ensure comprehensive knowledge of road transport legislation, safety protocols, and operational issues, achieving an expert level of understanding.
  • Act as the MAC's point of contact for updates on specialized legislation, coordinating with government bodies, stakeholders, and colleagues at Logistics UK as necessary.
  • Generate and contribute to member communications to keep them informed about the latest developments in compliance-related topics.
  • Initiate and facilitate discussions on compliance advisory subjects with external parties.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of member inquiries to ensure precise membership documentation.
  • Assist in the management and upkeep of MAC resources and other informational databases.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the editing and production of publications and articles for Logistics UK as needed.
  • Develop presentations and other compliance-related materials as required.
  • Deliver presentations at both internal and external events to enhance understanding of compliance issues.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement to elevate the quality of team outputs, ensuring Logistics UK remains at the forefront of compliance advisory services.
  • Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of road transport legal matters, possessing a Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage.
  • Background as a commercial vehicle or public service vehicle technician, with relevant education, qualifications, and a solid understanding of legislation pertaining to vehicle mechanical conditions.
  • Exceptional communication and time management abilities.
  • Analytical mindset for thorough information research.
  • Capability to interpret, comprehend, and analyze legislation and documentation, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with team members.
  • Proficient keyboard skills and adeptness in managing emails and calendars.
  • Professional telephone etiquette, fostering relationships and instilling confidence in the advice provided to members.
  • Aptitude for building productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Skill in developing and delivering engaging presentations.
  • Clear writing style with the ability to simplify complex legal requirements.
