Job Title: Environmental Engineer

At Aston Martin, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint and creating a sustainable future. We are seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to join our team and play a key role in achieving our environmental objectives.

Job Purpose:

The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, maintaining our environmental management system standards (ISO14001 & ISO50001), and achieving our environmental objectives. This includes overseeing all environmental activities companywide, supporting the Environmental Systems Manager, and leading projects to achieve our sustainability targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure environmental regulatory compliance across all sites, maintaining the environmental legal register and all relevant permits and consents.
  • Maintain and improve conformance to ISO14001 (Environmental Management System) at certified sites.
  • Implement environmental management systems across all manufacturing sites.
  • Lead environmental projects for energy, water, and waste reduction to achieve our Racing Green targets.
  • Ensure all environmental data is collected and analyzed for the Sustainability report and ESG ratings.
  • Develop and implement environmental initiatives companywide to drive environmental awareness.
  • Complete analysis of environmental data and preparation of reports.
  • Liaise with senior management and other members to achieve environmental targets.
  • Record all relevant data to meet ISO standards.
  • Support the Environmental Manager with setting out future environmental strategies and road maps.
  • Control waste management requirements at site and report waste data monthly.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits as relevant for ISO14001 and ISO50001.
  • Support Sustainability depart when required to gather data for sustainability reporting.
Requirements:
  • In-depth understanding and experience in managing compliance with Environmental legislation, permits, and consents.
  • In-depth knowledge and working experience with ISO14001 and ISO50001 at Manufacturing sites.
  • Environmentally focused degree or equivalent qualification.
  • ISO 14001 lead auditor.
  • Experience of undertaking internal audits and reviewing environmental documentation in line with the standard.
  • Experience in energy, water, and waste management.
  • Experience in environmental sustainability reporting in line with the GHG protocol.
  • Good communications skills and the ability to write clear, concise, and accurate reports.
  • Good understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and facilities.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office software, especially Excel.
  • Full driving license is required.
  • Able to travel at short notice within the UK to other Aston Martin sites.
