Outage Engineer Opportunity

H9 Technical Recruitment is partnering with a leading Energy & Waste client to identify an experienced Outage Engineer for their Northwest-based team. This role involves national travel across their UK fleet of facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Mechanical, C&I, and Electrical Engineers to deliver emergent works and maximize plant availability.
  • Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental, and Financial targets are met.
  • Develop and implement effective engineering solutions to address root causes.
  • Manage contractors to deliver work packages to deadlines and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Work within Permit to Work and Safe System of Work environments, including plant isolations and safety systems.
  • Develop and maintain Preventative Maintenance Systems and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Create detailed scopes of work and Engineering Specifications for tender.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical maintenance and engineering in process or power plants.
  • Pressure parts legislation expertise, including inspection, repair methods, and steam turbine maintenance.
  • Engineering qualifications with a minimum of HNC.
  • IOSH or equivalent safety qualification.
  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • Experience in energy from waste (EfW) facilities or power stations is advantageous.
