SEN Teaching Assistant Role

Parker Smith Inclusion is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEND school for pupils with SEMH and other associated learning needs.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive SEN Teaching Assistant who understands the complexities of working with neurodiverse children aged 11-17 and who has the skills and abilities to positively impact learning in SEND settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with SEMH and other associated learning needs in a SEND school setting
  • Work collaboratively with experienced and supportive teachers and therapists to deliver high-quality education and support
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behavior and engagement in learning
  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEMH, including behavioral and emotional support
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
Requirements
  • Passion for working with SEND and a commitment to supporting pupils with SEMH
  • Relevant experience working with children with SEND, including SEMH, Autism, and ADHD
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
