About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team at Claires Court Schools. As a key member of our Finance department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Executive Management Team and Principals in achieving our financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in strategic financial planning, including operational budgets and five-year forecasts
  2. Oversee revenue recognition and management of pupil fees and additional income streams
  3. Lead on Value-Added Tax (VAT) management, ensuring compliance and optimising systems
  4. Provide financial governance, reporting, and support for capital and maintenance projects
  5. Ensure financial compliance with audit and risk management procedures
  6. Contribute to continuous process improvements and better decision-making
Requirements:

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented accountant with a passion for education and finance. The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA) with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience
  2. Expertise in VAT management and compliance
  3. Strong financial reporting and budgeting skills
  4. Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance colleagues
  5. Commitment to working in the independent school sector
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills and a focus on customer service
