Occupational Therapist Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated Children's Safeguarding Team in the South West region.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist to work with a highly professional team committed to continuous service improvement. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy, two years post-registration experience, and current registration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality occupational therapy services to children and families in the South West region.
  • Work collaboratively with the Children's Safeguarding Team to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, including social workers, healthcare professionals, and other agencies.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop effective plans to support children's needs.
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and professionals to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
  • Two years post-registration experience and current registration.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise written reports.
  • Strong team working skills, including working in a multi-disciplinary team and liaison with relevant bodies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation pertaining to disability.
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: provision of major adaptations, moving and handling, or paediatric equipment/children with complex needs.
  • Extensive experience of visiting disabled and/or older people in their home.
  • A good understanding of the aims of the service in relation to meeting the needs of older and disabled people.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals.
  • A full driving licence and access to a car.
