About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our team as a Senior Community Engagement Officer. As a key member of our community team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing community involvement initiatives on our estate, streets, and neighbourhood in partnership with resident representative groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement community involvement initiatives to engage residents and promote community participation
  • Build capacity within communities to enable local representation and ensure the needs of diverse communities are met
  • Provide support in developing strategies for estate regeneration and making applications for external funding
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, including residents, voluntary and community groups, to design, develop, and deliver community engagement initiatives
  • Manage and deliver a range of community development work, including events and resident involvement initiatives
Requirements
  • A good standard of education commensurate to the role
  • A housing qualification is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to support work with customers across a range of knowledge of national policies and guidance in relation to community engagement
  • Good working knowledge of and proven ability to work in partnership with the voluntary and community sector
  • Ability to engage and involve key stakeholders in the design, development, and delivery of community engagement initiatives
  • Ability to work to agreed timescales and to work flexibly to meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication approaches for different audiences
  • Excellent analytical skills to identify a range of issues from information gathered
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, adapt to changes in circumstances, and to be resilient and remain optimistic in the face of adversity
  • Excellent administrative skills to manage a diverse workload
  • Available to attend regular evening meetings
