Job Title: Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Start Date: ASAP - Subject to clearance

Duration: Permanent

Salary/Pay Rate/Benefits: Depending on experience

Location: Newcastle or Glasgow - Hybrid available, 2 days in office per week

Hours of Work: Up to 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams

* Conduct hazard and fault identification studies, including HAZOP and FMEA

* Perform qualitative and quantitative hazard analysis assessments

* Develop and review safety case reports

* Carry out ALARP assessments and provide support to engineering substantiation activities

* Liaise with regulatory organizations and develop safety management arrangements

* Manage and lead safety case activities and teams

Requirements:

* Proven track record in safety within nuclear, defense, or another highly regulated industry

* Honours degree or equivalent in physics, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline

* Chartered status or working towards it

* Ability to produce and review high-quality technical reports

* Ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior staff

* Ability to identify technical limitations and gain necessary clearance
