We are seeking a Senior Utilities Engineer - Civils/Structural Water & Wastewater.

Location: Reading / Basingstoke Area

Salary: £47,690 - £70,000 (dependent on experience and suitability for the role)

What does a day in the life of a Senior Utilities Engineer look like?

As a Senior Utilities Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering professional engineering services, enabling the Utilities Engineering Team Leader to provide essential utility services to various facilities and assets.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting civil/structural water and wastewater design activities
  • Performing design reviews, calculations, and change control
  • Engaging with operational areas, project teams, and senior management

Key Accountabilities:

  • Adherence to management system requirements for Utilities Engineering activities
  • Providing engineering intelligence to the Utilities Engineering team
  • Delivering engineering tasks for utilities networks
  • Maintaining high standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality

Key Responsibilities:

  • Applying technical knowledge for design and performance of relevant network plant and equipment
  • Ensuring the availability of utilities plant and infrastructure
  • Maintaining configuration baseline and authorizations for load connections
  • Providing specialist engineering knowledge for design, installation, and troubleshooting
  • Identifying and escalating business risks related to network plant performance
  • Optimizing the delivery of Utilities Engineering services
  • Ensuring compliance for relevant network plant and equipment

Candidates should possess:

  • HNC/HND with relevant experience, or a degree with additional experience (preferably IEng or CEng)
  • Operational and engineering experience in an industrial or utilities environment
  • Ability to solve complex problems using established solutions
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment with an understanding of nuclear requirements
