Yard Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Yard Manager to join our team at Yard and Groom. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for the overall management and operation of our equine yard.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the daily activities of the yard, including feeding, turnout, and mucking out.
- Manage the care and well-being of our horses, ensuring their health and safety at all times.
- Supervise and train junior staff members in equine care and handling.
- Develop and implement effective systems for maintaining a clean and organized yard.
- Collaborate with our veterinary team to ensure the highest level of care for our horses.
- Manage the yard's inventory and supplies, ensuring that all necessary equipment and materials are available.
- Develop and maintain relationships with our clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their satisfaction with our services.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in equine yard management or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of equine care and handling, including first aid and lameness recognition.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, clients, and veterinarians.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Equine first aid certification.
- Experience with horse box driving and HGV operation.
- Teaching qualifications or experience in equine education.
- Experience with rehabilitation and competition grooming.
