Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified Tax Consultant to become an integral part of our dynamic Business Tax division. This pivotal role can be performed from any of our designated office locations.
The ideal candidate will be a recently qualified or established Tax Consultant with ambitions to advance to an Assistant Manager position and beyond.
Role Purpose
This position involves managing and supervising a portfolio of corporate tax clients, ensuring their compliance cycle is effectively managed with support from senior team members, while also engaging in advisory tasks as needed.
This role is essential within the Business and Corporate Tax Team, with initial responsibilities centered around overseeing compliance functions for business tax clients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and potentially reviewing UK corporation tax computations.
- Monitoring reporting and payment deadlines.
- Collaborating closely with audit and accounts teams to provide guidance on tax accounting entries and disclosures.
- Training and mentoring junior colleagues within the Business Tax Team.
- Providing corporation tax compliance proposals and quotes to potential clients.
- Depending on experience, coordinating and reviewing other business tax-related returns.
- Managing financial performance in alignment with KPIs.
- Handling correspondence with clients and HMRC.
- Identifying opportunities for tax planning and risk mitigation.
- Assisting with ad hoc projects and duties as required.
- Ensuring adherence to the Firm's technical, ethical, risk, and compliance procedures.
Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will be expected to operate largely independently, with support and oversight from the office's tax partners and directors as necessary.
Relationship management will be a critical aspect of this role, with the candidate expected to contribute to effective teamwork as part of the management team, coordinating directly with clients and collaborating with colleagues while coaching and mentoring junior team members.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong technical and practical knowledge of corporate tax.
- Understanding of tax issues affecting owner-managed businesses and their shareholders.
- Familiarity with other business taxes and tax reporting processes is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of UK accounting standards and ability to interpret financial information.
- Proficient IT skills, including MS Office and databases; familiarity with Alphatax is a plus.
