Job Title: Asset Inspection Engineer

Join our team at TüV Rheinland, a leading provider of technical services worldwide, as we seek a skilled Asset Inspection Engineer to support our sister company, TüV Rheinland Industrial Services (TRIS). As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of engineering assets throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and review Written Schemes of Examination (WSE) to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  2. Identify and coordinate necessary preparation requirements for WSE.
  3. Conduct thorough examinations in accordance with WSE, utilizing non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques such as ultrasonic thickness checks, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant.
  4. Collaborate with NDT providers for extensive requirements or specialist methods.
  5. Prepare clear, concise reports, including photographs, to document findings.
  6. Assess deterioration and review design calculations to identify defects.
  7. Coordinate repairs and participate in Risk-Based Inspection studies to ensure optimal asset performance.
Requirements:
  1. Strong understanding of engineering principles and ability to accurately follow procedures.
  2. Ability to make and defend difficult decisions, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and work effectively with others.
  4. Mechanical Engineering background, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
Desirable Qualifications:
  1. Chemical or oil and gas sector experience.
  2. Understanding of fabrication or repair of pressure equipment.
  3. Experience with non-destructive examination techniques.
  4. Man management experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  2. Incorporated Engineer status desirable.
  3. At least 5 years' experience within a relevant engineering discipline, with at least one year spent working in an engineering discipline associated with in-service inspection of pressure systems.
