Job Title: Ocean Freight Operator

Our client, a leading global freight forwarder, is seeking a dedicated Ocean Freight Operator to join their team in Manchester. As an Ocean Freight Operator, you will be responsible for handling exports and some import shipments, working closely with the sales department and other teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage ocean export shipments from start to finish, including booking, shipment control, documentation, transport insurance, accounting, and customs handling.
  • Provide exceptional customer support, including occasional client visits when required.
  • Arrange customs clearances and communicate with UK, overseas offices, and agents.
  • Monitor job file reporting, accuracy, and profitability.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in freight forwarding, preferably in air and sea logistics.
  • Strong operational knowledge and enthusiasm for the role.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Knowledge of Cargowise One is desirable.
What We Offer:
  • Basic salary up to £35,000 DOE.
