Key ResponsibilitiesSafety

Duties
As an integral member of the electrical maintenance team, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Performing multi-skilled electrical engineering maintenance.
  • Maintaining the electrical integrity of the site-wide network to uphold the highest safety standards.
  • Executing planned maintenance inspections and corrective actions on fixed and rotating assets in a heavy industrial setting, including all HV and LV assets.
  • Conducting electrical inspections, testing, and maintenance in accordance with BS7671, troubleshooting faults, repairing defects, and ensuring compliance with safety standards related to electrical installations.
  • Experience with control and instrumentation systems, including CEMS gas analysis systems, PLCs, and variable speed drives is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Implementing predictive and preventative maintenance on large motors and drive systems, including wound rotor induction motors and asynchronous induction motors, along with associated starting equipment.
  • Possessing a working knowledge of medium voltage networks, including switching methods and maintenance operations.
  • Demonstrating a solid understanding of electrical maintenance methodologies and techniques.
  • Adhering to schedules and procedures while maintaining accurate records.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise(1) Qualifications
(a) Health & Safety
  • IOSH Working Safely certification.
  • Basic understanding of ISO Standards.
  • Familiarity with Assure EHS software.
  • Face Fit certification.
  • Manual handling training.
  • Training in RAMS/STOP/ASSURE.
  • LOTOTO training.
  • First Aid for Electricians certification.
(b) Role Specific
  • Completion of a time-served apprenticeship or advanced modern apprenticeship level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
  • City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2 or 2230 Level 3 NVQ 2356/2357 or City and Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation or AM1 and AM2.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulation BS7671 Certificate.
  • Preferred ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • HV Operational Safety Training Course C&G or equivalent (desirable).
  • C&G Combined Initial Verification, Periodic Inspection, Testing & Reporting (desirable).
(2) Experience
  • Demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Electrical and C&I experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplined team in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of the cement manufacturing process is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of electrical maintenance methods and techniques.
(3) Skills/Knowledge
  • Low/Medium voltage electrical isolation.
  • Experience with variable speed drives and PLCs (Mitsubishi).
  • Working knowledge of process gas analysis systems and techniques.
  • Basic IT skills, including SAP, MS Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of cement plant and maintenance processes.
