We are seeking an experienced and innovative Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Stroke Unit at University Hospital Lewisham. As a Band 7 Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in leading and managing the Occupational Therapy team, providing specialist input to stroke patients, and contributing to the development of the unit.
Main Responsibilities:- To manage a designated caseload with complex needs, using evidence-based and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
- To lead and manage the Occupational Therapy team in the Stroke Unit, ensuring high-quality care and effective service delivery.
- To maintain accurate records and contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within the unit.
- To provide supervision and appraisal to junior staff, promoting professional development and growth.
- To participate in the maintenance and development of the Trust Occupational Therapy Service, ensuring alignment with national guidelines and standards.
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy, with HCPC registration.
- Significant postgraduate experience in Occupational Therapy, including senior positions in relevant specialties.
- Experience in managing limited resources and high workloads, with a strong understanding of clinical governance and its implications for Occupational Therapy.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of national guidelines and standards pertaining to stroke care and Occupational Therapy, with a robust understanding of clinical governance.
