About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Housing Disrepair team at Expert Law. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling Housing Disrepair files from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage a caseload of Housing Disrepair matters, including drafting and issuing proceedings, and advising clients on litigation and cost risk.
  2. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Disrepair Cases, as well as relevant legislation, including the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, the Defective Premises Act 1972, and the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018.
  3. Provide excellent client care skills, including effective communication and negotiation with clients and opposing parties.
  4. Work closely with fee earners to ensure seamless case management and to provide support with drafting and issuing proceedings.
  5. Contribute to the development of the Housing Disrepair team, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  1. Minimum of 3 years' experience in Housing Disrepair matters.
  2. Strong understanding of the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Disrepair Cases and relevant legislation.
  3. Excellent client care skills, including effective communication and negotiation.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Strong organizational and time management skills.
