Our client, a leading hospitality company MSSHOSP, is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead the operations of a high-volume pub in a picturesque location. With an annual turnover of £3.5 million and serving up to 900 covers per day, the successful candidate will have proven leadership skills, extensive hospitality experience, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth service for up to 900 covers per day.
- Drive the business to achieve a £3.5 million annual turnover, ensuring profitability and cost control.
- Lead, manage, and motivate a large team, ensuring high standards of service and efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximise revenue and grow customer loyalty.
- Analyse and optimise sales performance, overseeing promotions, special events, and marketing initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations, and manage all licensing requirements.
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, and development in conjunction with HR to meet operational needs.
- Maintain excellent customer service, responding to guest feedback and resolving any issues effectively.
- Manage stock control, supplier relationships, and cost margins to maximise profitability.
- Work closely with senior management to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver business objectives.
- Ensure the venue remains a key destination for both locals and visitors by constantly improving the overall customer experience.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- At least 5 years of experience in a General Manager or similar senior management role within the hospitality industry.
- A proven track record of managing a high-volume, fast-paced operation.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L and controlling costs.
- Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a large, diverse team.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, capable of managing a complex, high-turnover business.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for delivering an outstanding guest experience.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and resilience to perform under pressure.
- A proactive and hands-on approach, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to implement improvements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with both staff and customers.
- Knowledge of current food and drink trends, as well as an understanding of the local market.
