We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Knowledge Lawyer to join our Dispute Resolution Practice Group at Carpmaels & Ransford. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing thought leadership, content, training, and advice to our DR Practice Group and clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Track and brief on forthcoming legal and sector developments, ensuring our practice, clients, and wider firm stay informed.
- Collaborate with DR partners, Head of Knowledge, and Marketing & BD Director to create high-quality legal content, including briefings, training presentations, and thought leadership materials.
- Identify opportunities to demonstrate our expertise to clients and in the press/relevant journals, preparing content to maximize these opportunities.
- Develop and deliver a program of regular briefing notes to clients, aligning with our team's strategy and keeping clients updated on key developments.
- Identify knowledge gaps and opportunities to build expertise within the team.
- Design and deliver a rolling program of legal training for fee-earners within the DR practice group.
- Provide timely, authoritative responses to ad hoc queries from fee-earners, demonstrating expertise.
- Assist with fee-earning work within areas of expertise, particularly on complex points of law.
- Senior lawyer with significant PQE experience in intellectual property, predominantly patent litigation, with exposure to the life sciences and/or tech sectors.
- Strong academic background.
- Excellent drafting skills and proven track record in producing expertly written and insightful client briefing notes, legal journal articles, or other client-facing materials.
- Ability to deliver high-quality content to tight deadlines, demonstrating a high level of intellectual rigor and technical mastery.
- Proactive with strong communication and analytical skills, as well as a high level of commercial awareness.
- Flexible approach with a willingness to take on fee-earning work alongside knowledge work and develop and broaden own areas of expertise as needed.
- Knowledge management experience preferred.
- High level of IT literacy, with experience of using legal and business information systems, and SharePoint or similar platforms.
