Student-Athlete Care Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Athletic Training Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our athletic department, you will be responsible for creating a positive and healthy environment for student-athletes, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement injury prevention and treatment programs for student-athletes.
  • Provide medical care and support to student-athletes, including first aid and emergency response.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff and other athletic department personnel to ensure a safe and healthy athletic environment.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to identify potential health risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local medical facilities and healthcare providers to ensure access to quality medical care for student-athletes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or a related field.
  • Current certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) from the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).
  • Valid Virginia driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
  • Experience working with student-athletes in a collegiate or professional setting.
  • Certification in CPR/AED and other emergency medical procedures.
