We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Pioneer Selection. Key Responsibilities:- Lead the Evolution of Our Safety Management System: Develop and implement a comprehensive safety management system that ensures full compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Champion Personal Health and Safety: Lead the Safety Star Programme, promoting personal health and safety across the workforce and ensuring that all employees are aware of their responsibilities and roles in maintaining a safe working environment.
- Provide Specialist Health and Safety Knowledge: Offer expert advice and support to all personnel on health and safety matters, ensuring that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties safely.
- Develop and Coordinate Safety Training Programmes: Design and deliver comprehensive safety training programmes that meet the needs of all employees, ensuring that they are equipped to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Share Best Practices and Implement Safety Visions: Collaborate with our Europe and North America sites to share best practices and implement safety visions aligned with company policies, ensuring that our safety standards are consistently high across all locations.
- Develop Systems to Encourage Personal Ownership of Safety: Create and implement systems that encourage personal ownership of safety, ensuring that both personal and process safety performance remains flawless.
- Manage High-Risk Employee Management: Take charge of high-risk employee management, scenario training, and hazard/operability studies on critical processes, ensuring that all employees are aware of the risks and take necessary precautions.
- Lead the Safety Steering Committee: Own and lead the Safety Steering Committee, providing clear direction and leadership for safety sub-committees and ensuring that safety is a top priority across the organization.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Regularly audit work areas, engaging directly with employees to understand and mitigate potential risks, and drive continuous improvement in personal and process safety, ensuring the highest levels of compliance and safe behaviours.
- Manage Incident/Accident Investigations: Manage incident/accident investigations, ensuring that safety reports are compiled, shared, and used to inform future prevention measures.
- Proven Experience: You will have proven experience in health and safety management, with a deep understanding of safety legislation and a track record of implementing effective safety management systems.
- Strong Leadership Skills: You will have strong leadership skills, with the ability to promote an interdependent and accountable safety culture, and to motivate and engage employees in safety initiatives.
- Analytical Mindset: You will have an analytical mindset, with the ability to assess safety data and drive continuous improvements in safety performance.
- Excellent Communication Skills: You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate teams, and to communicate complex safety information in a clear and concise manner.
