We are looking for a Senior Building Consultant who not only demonstrates technical expertise but also exhibits strong commercial insight, capable of inspiring clients and mentoring junior team members through effective communication and relationship management.
This position is ideal for a Chartered Building Consultant with relevant post-qualification experience, eager to advance their career within an innovative organization.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Building Consultant:
- Overseeing multiple projects across various sectors, delivering a comprehensive range of Building Consultancy and project management services.
- Maintaining client relationships and ensuring service excellence on a project-by-project basis.
- Utilizing standard building contract frameworks, including JCT and NEC.
- Gaining experience in sectors such as education, local government, healthcare, and infrastructure.
- Conducting defect analysis, performing building surveys, and generating professional reports and specifications.
- Applying principles of quality, health, safety, and environmental management in project oversight.
- Executing project management and contract administration for larger initiatives.
- Conducting due diligence, condition assessments, and measured surveys.
- Designing and leading small to medium-sized construction projects.
- Providing professional services, including Party Wall matters, asset management, and statutory applications.
Qualifications for the Senior Building Consultant:
- BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying from a RICS accredited program.
- Proven comprehensive surveying experience.
- Experience in both pre and post-contract project management, with a track record of effective client service delivery.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
- Ability to collaborate with senior colleagues to foster a profitable service and a high-performing team culture.
- Proficient IT skills, particularly in Word and Excel, with the capability to create, edit, and format documents.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and NBS; experience with Revit is advantageous.
- Understanding of BIM Level 2 standards.
- Adherence to all legal, professional, and corporate compliance requirements in all work undertaken.
